Wyoming - How to Change name in Driver license

- Name Change
- Appear in person at any Wyoming driver exam office.
- Surrender your current Wyoming license or ID card.
- Present a legal proof of the change in name; such as a court order, marriage certificate, divorce decree (that indicates you are taking back your maiden or other name) or other legal verification of a name change signed by a judge.
- You will be re-photographed, and your new signature will be captured.
- Pay the fee.
Required DocumentsEdit
- Valid U.S. passport or state-certified birth certificate
- Proof of Social Security Number (W-2 form, IRS tax form, SSN card, etc.)
- Two (2) current forms of proof of Wyoming residency (see below under Proof of Residency)
- Proof of a name change (such as a marriage certificate, divorce decree, court order, etc.) if your name is now different or has changed from your birth certificate or U.S. passport.
- Documentation from your physician certifying completion of all operations necessary to effect a change of sex
- Proof of Social Security Number
You are required to present (1) of the following as proof of your Social Security number:
- Social Security card,
- Bank Statement with your complete SSN on it,
- W-2 form with your complete SSN on it, OR
Any other government or official document that displays your complete Social Security number.
- Proof of Residency
You are required to present any two (2) of the below acceptable documents to prove you are a Wyoming resident:
- Current utility bill with your name and residential (not P.O. box) address on it;
- Current rental or lease agreement with your name and residential (not P.O. box) address on it;
- Certified voter registration certificate (containing your name and residential address - not P.O. box) displaying the stamp of the current county clerk for that county; or
- Vehicle registration in your name with your Wyoming residential address (not P.O. box) on it.
If you do not have these documents, you must contact the Cheyenne headquarters help desk at 307-777-4810 for assistance and information concerning other possible acceptable documents that could prove you are a resident of Wyoming.

InstructionsEdit
Adding or changing information on your Wyoming driver license or identification card may require that you present documentation supporting the addition or change and/or that you appear in person at your local exam office.
- Address Change
- Wyoming law (W.S.31-7-137) mandates that when a holder of a Wyoming driver's license or identification card changes their mailing address, residence, or their name, they must notify WYDOT Driver Services within 10 days.
- You need to notify WYDOT in writing (not by e-mail) of your new address, which will be noted in WYDOT's data base.
- This service is free, and you will not be issued a new license or identification card.
- Or, you may surrender your current license or ID card at the nearest driver exam office and complete a new application form.
- A new license valid for four years, or ID card, will be issued to you.
- You will be charged the standard renewal fee.
- The new license or ID card will be mailed to you in approximately four weeks.
