ProcedureEdit

  • If your trade certificate is valid, and it’s stolen or lost, then you would have to file a complaint and get a FIR copy from the local police station. This FIR is the vital document to apply for the duplicate trade certificate.
  • In case of damaged or toned trade certificate, Police complaint is not required. The damaged remains of the certificate is sufficient and need to be submitted at the time of applying.


Apply In-Person:

  1. To apply for a Duplicate trade certificate, the applicant has to approach the RTO office from where the certificate was obtained.
  2. Go to the respective office.

  4. Application forms can be obtained from the appropriate RTO office. Obtain the appropriate application form or write on an A4 sheet as advised.

  6. Submit the completed application form along with the required documents as per our “Required Documents” section of this page in one of the counter and pay the appropriate fee.
  7. The submitted application form will be verified. If all are in place then this application will be processed to issue a duplicate trade certificate clearly marked "Duplicate" on it.



Apply through Centres:

  1. To apply through centres, the applicant has to approach the respective “CSC” centre in their area. Refer the following link for location: CSC Locator link
    • NOTE: The applicant has to select the state, district and block name from the drop-down menu, or the applicant has to click on their respective district to find nearby centres.
  2. Please visit the centre and consult with the centre operator for your requirement.
  3. If the operator issues an application form, then collect it and pay the requisite fee. Please complete the application form.
  4. Now, submit the completed application along with the required documents as per the “Required Documents” section of this page. It is advised to take the documents in original to the kiosk for scanning purposes.
  5. The operator will process the application online. On successful submission, the applicant will receive an application number as acknowledgement. The applicant will also get a transaction number as a text message on their registered mobile number.
  6. Applicant has to make necessary payment as centre operator quotes and don’t forget to take the receipt.
  7. This application will be forwarded to the respective department for further processing.
  8. ”SMS” triggered update on application status will be sent to the applicant’s mobile. Please keep track of the notification.
  9. The submitted application will be processed by the department. A designated authority will verify the submitted documents and inspect the area of the applicant to clarify the applicant’s details.
  10. Based on the outcome of the above-mentioned steps and other internal processing, the designated issuing authority will issue the certificate.
  11. The status, viz. Approval or Rejection will be conveyed to the applicant through an “SMS” or applicable norms.

  • Application form.
  • FIR copy from the Police station (in case of theft/missing) OR
  • The original remains of the trade certificate in case of the trade certificate is mutilated, torn or damaged.
  • Copy of trade certificate if available
  • Copy of the firm registration certificate or trade licence.
  • An ID Proof with your photo. (Driving licence / Voter's card / Aadhaar Card /passport etc. can be used for this purpose.)
  • A residential proof. (Ration card / Voter's card / Aadhaar Card /passport etc. can be used for this purpose.)
  • PAN card as per requirement.

Note:
  • All original and copy of original with self attestation as advised by respective authorities to be submitted as per requirement.
  • Apart from the above documents, authorities may ask to submit additional information or documents. Please provide them for processing.

Need for the DocumentEdit

  • Trade certificate is required by the bona fide dealer of a vehicle manufacturer.
  • This certificate is issued for different class of vehicles like M/C, LMV, GOODS CARRIER, THREE WHEELER, MOTOR/MAXI CAB.
  • This certificate is needed for an agency to use the vehicle for test-drive and demo purpose.
  • So, it is mandatory to apply for a duplicate trade certificate as and when it was found to be missing/stolen/damaged.

  • The trade certificate shall be carried on a motor vehicle in a weather-proof circular folder and trade registration mark shall be exhibited in a conspicuous place in the vehicle.
  • No holder of a trade certificate shall deliver a motor vehicle to a purchaser without registration, whether temporary or permanent.
