Procedure

Get a 12-month extension

1. Complete and submit a Driver License Extension Request.
2. For those who have a CDL, submit Commercial Drivers Notice of Surrender.
3. Mail necessary forms with check or money order (payable to Department of Licensing):
   Driver Records
   Department of Licensing
   PO Box 3907
   Seattle, WA 98124-3907

Renew for 6 years by mail

1. Complete and submit a Driver License Replacement/Renewal Request While Out-of-State
2. To those who do not want to keep their motorcycle endorsement, submit Notice of Surrender.
3. If you have a CDL, submit Commercial Drivers Notice of Surrender.
4. Mail necessary forms with check or money order (payable to Department of Licensing):

• It isn't suspended, revoked, surrendered, cancelled, or
• You don't have any outstanding fees.
