Apply by mail:
- To Apply Permission to Purchase and Use of Radioactive Materials, the applicant has to approach the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) link
- An application form will be provided to the applicant by the concerned officer. or it can be downloaded from the following link
- The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
- Make sure that the applicant has attached all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
- The applicant has to attach the photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting.
- Submit all the documents with the completed form to the concerned office mailing address.
- The mailing address is mentioned in the “Office Locations & Contacts” section of this page.
- The fee for this procedure has been mentioned under the “Fees” section of this page.
- The application is reviewed by the NRC using the procedures and criteria outlined in our Standard Review Plans for these licensing applications.
- A licence is issued if the NRC approves the application.
- Certain requirements imposed by the NRC and agreed to by the licensee may be included in the licence.
- Applications for possession and usage are sent to the NRC's regional offices, whereas applications for consumer goods distribution are sent to the NRC's headquarters.
- Once the process gets completed, the applicant gets the permit through the mail.
- This entire process can be completed within 30 days or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.
