Ukraine - Obtain Birth Certificate
ProcedureEdit
- Applicants may obtain a copy of a birth certificate, by going to their local civil registry office.
- Do not forget to bring a valid identification, you may be asked to present this to confirm your identity and to make sure that you have the right to obtain a copy of the birth certificate.
- Pay the application fee and wait for instructions from the Registrar regarding when can you comeback to collect the certificate.

You may use the link provided under "Office Locations & Contacts" to get in touch with the nearest Embassy of the Ukraine in the country you are currently staying. The Embassy's consular services section will be able to help process your request to obtain a copy of a birth certificate.

EligibilityEdit
Secondary (Repeated) certificates are issued to the persons, to whom names the civil state acts are registered, and secondary birth certificates of children can be issued only to their parents or adopters. The secondary birth certificates for children under 18 years of old, can be issued to their guardians, and administration of child houses, where the children are being brought up. Persons 16 years of age can be given the secondary certificates upon their passport.
The person deprived of parents' rights can not be given secondary birth certificates of children. On issuing a secondary birth certificate the data about the parents are given in full accordance with the registration data of the birth act.

A Birth Certificate states the name and sex of a person, it also indicates the time and place of birth, it is issued after the birth is registered with the Civil Registry Office.
