The following steps are the process to apply for Student Loans in Tunisia.


Step 1: Advert for student loan scheme by Tunisia's Ministry of Higher Education

The Tunisia's Ministry of Higher Education will advertise in the print media, ministry website , in the local News paper, District notice boards, radio stations and Television For the Loan Application Documents to be obtained from the nearest District office of Education

Step 2: Pick the application from the Tunisia's Ministry of Higher Education

Students in Tunisia can apply for a student loan from the Tunisia's Ministry of Higher Education once they have passed the bacc exams after their secondary studies,and should learn which university or institute has accepted them before picking the application form for the ministry of higher education district offices. It is imperative to conduct thorough research before you apply for a student loans. For students who fail the bacc but can afford to study privately, can pick student loan application form from different lenders like private loan institutions ie Banks or other loan agencies in Tunisia.

Step 3: present a admission letter from the university and valid student ID

Step 5: Attach the required document before submission

In most cases, students need to attach the admission letter into a higher tertiary institute,photocopy your pass slips, your passport photos and other relevant documents, Attach all together to complete the application form before submission.

Step 6: Submit your application for approval

Once you have completed your application form and attached all the necessary documents according to the Student loan guidelines you can now submit your application form directly to the Tunisia's Ministry of Higher Education for further processing,this will take several weeks to be processed and final list of successful applicant will be produced in the media houses and on the ministry website.

Step 7: Final approval and funds disbursement

After the loan committee's final selection, Normally, the student loan will be sent to the college but not to the individual student bank account,However the student must pay the loan using their individual back account.

The Ministry of Higher Education administers Tunisia's student loan system through an elaborate array of government bureaus and agencies. Besides a ministerial oversight committee (comit suprieur du ministre) and a board of directors (conseil de direction), the Ministry includes a cabinet, administrative and financial inspections department, common services, and specific services. The cabinet is further composed of seven bureaus and a group of consultative committees, while each of the services contains several departments.

i). Approved tertiary institutions;
ii). Pursuing approved courses.
iii).Applicants must be a Tunisian students seeking to pursue higher education in an accredited institution of higher learning recognized by the Tunisia's Ministry of Higher Education (ministre de l'Enseignement suprieur).
iv)students having proven academic skills but lacking resources.

i)The Ministry of Higher Education grants student loans to Tunisians studying abroad
ii)The amount of the loan is restricted to no more than 3,000 Tunisian dinars (TND) per year.
iii)Student loan is granted according to the funds available.
iv)The priority criteria for selecting the applicants are the year of study, grades, parents' income etc.
v)The assistance is granted on a case-by-case basis and only in exceptional cases of students with lower socio-economic status who have specific difficulties.
vi)Loans are allocated for intermediary and final studies levels.

According to Tunisia's Ministry of Higher Education (ministre de l'Enseignement suprieur),students who want to apply for student Loan to study high education in Tunisia and abroad must have, [translation] "throughout their previous university studies, obtained an average grade above or equal to 11/20 or or 11.5/20 in science and technology programs".
