Apply through Phone Call

  • You can apply by calling "14567" which is a National Helpline for the Elders and they should be able to facilitate you to get a Senior Citizen Certifiate or Identity Card.



Apply In-Person:

  1. To apply for the senior citizen certificate, the applicant has to approach the concerned office link
  1. In the above contact look for contacts under department "Education (Social Welfare & Social Education)" Or "Health & Family Welfare Department" and get in-touch with them, they should be able to help you.
  2. Please go to the respective office to get details for applying and also collect the application form or write an application.
  3. Make sure that you have all the proper documents mentioned in the “Required documents” section below.
  4. Submit the completed form along with the documents to the concerned authority.
  5. This application will be processed internally. Verification of submitted documents will also be carried.
  6. After successful completion, Certificate will be delivered to the applicant through postal or in person as per the applicable norms.
  7. The whole process of issuing the Senior Citizen Certificate will take 10 to 15 working days.



Apply through CSC:

  1. To Download or View Birth Certificate for the existing birth certificate registration, the applicant has to approach the nearest CSC  Link
    NOTE:To check the contact details of the CSC centre, please select the District and Block.
  2. The applicant has to visit the nearest centre.
  3. The applicant has to inform all the details to the respective operator.
  4. The operator will enter the details in the portal with the given details.
  5. The applicant will get the downloaded certificate from the operator.
  6. Please pay as per applicable service charges if any.
  7. The processing time for this procedure is immediate.

  • Application form.
  • Two photographs of the applicant.
  • Aadhaar card
  • ID card of the applicant (Pension book/ School certificate/ Identity Card issued by competent authority OR Bank passbook with photo)
  • Residential Proof(Ration cards/Valid Passport/Voter ID card)
  • Pan card ( For Monthly Pension above Rs.15,000 per month)
  • Birth certificate / document to prove the age
  • Residence certificate issued by Competent Authority for the said period as required.

Need for the DocumentEdit

  • The Government of India provides facilities for citizens above the age of 60 years. In order to avail those facilities one has to get the certificate.
  • The senior citizen certificate will allow the holder to receive numerous benefits like discounts in Railways, Flights and other benefits from the government.



Information which might helpEdit

  • Without cross signature(half on paper and half on photograph) and signature on undertaking, the application will be rejected
  • One has to produce the card to prove the authorities whenever asked for. So, this card must be carried always.
NOTE : It is a punishable offense to try with fraudulent documents to get a Senior citizen certificate

  • The senior citizen certificate can also use for a government benefits and schemes, healthcare subsidies, travel concessions, etc.
