Applying process in Trinidad and Tobago for citizen and non-citizen.
- A. Apply In-Person:
- To Obtain a Police Clearance Certificate, the applicant has to approach the Trinidad and Tobago Police Station – link
- The applicant has to get the appointment through online and complete the procedure.
- Use the following link to upload all the details and for appointment – link
- The applicant has to enter in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted) and click the “Next” button.
- Make sure that the applicant has uploaded all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page and click the “Next”.
- Now, the applicant has to select the date for appointment.
- The applicant is responsible for printing their own application forms on legal size paper and bringing it to the police station on the day of their appointment.
- The Certificate of Character processing fee is TT$50, which is to be paid at the police station on the day of the appointment.
- The concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
- Once the process gets completed, the applicant has to give the fingerprint and get the certificate from the office.
- This entire process can be completed within 1 days or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.
Applying process - overseas for citizen.
- A. Apply through mail(post).
- Applicant has to apply with the “Office of the Senior Superintendent” to obtain the PCC through mail(post).
- Once the application is filled in, please attach the completed application, required document and fee paid details.
- Mail(post) these set of documents to:
Office of the Senior Superintendent,
Criminal Investigations Department and Criminal Records Office,
Police Headquarters, Cnr St Vincent and Sackville Streets.

- The certificate will be delivered to the applicant as per norms.
- B. Apply through representative.
- Applicant shall mandate an authorized representative to apply on their behalf at the respective “Office of the Senior Superintendent”

- Representative should carry required documents and the completed application form and go to the respective office.
- Please follow as per authorities guidelines and submit the completed application along with documents. #Representative should pay for any charges, if required as advised.
- This application will be processed by respective department.
- The certificate can be collected from the office where applicant applied in-person upon notification or issued as per norms.

- C. Apply In-Person:
- To Obtain a Police Clearance Certificate, the applicant has to approach the Ministry of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs – link
- An application form will be provided to the applicant by the concerned officer.
- The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
- Make sure that the applicant has attached all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
- The applicant has to attach the photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting.
- Submit all the documents with the completed form to the concerned officer.
- The applicant has to pay the prescribed fee of TT$50.00
- After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. #If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
- An acknowledgment receipt will be provided. Please save it for future reference.
- Once the process gets completed, the applicant gets a call from the office regarding the application.
- The applicant has to visit the office to get the clearance certificate.
- This entire process can be completed within 15 - 20 days or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.

- Valid identity document (identity card, passport, driving license).

- Citizen proof/Document of National Identity (DNI).
Foreign national
- A copy of your passport while living in Trinidad and Tobago.
- A copy of your permit of stay in Trinidad and Tobago, passport number and place of issue as well.
- Proofs of legal stay (copy of passport held during the said period with respective stamp and seal).

EligibilityEdit
- Applicant with valid passport and a valid address proof.
- Age: 16 years and above. In case of minors, the application must be submitted by the parent exercising parental authority, if the minor has not turned 16 years.
- The current address of the applicant must be same as in the passport and other supporting documents.
- Applicants who are in need of residential status, employment or long term visa or for immigration to a foreign nation.
