ProcedureEdit

  1. To obtain a President's Authority, applicants will need to put up a marriage notice at Warden's Office nearest to where the resident lives.
  2. Seven days after, collect copy from Warden's Office - then visit Marriage Clerk, Registrar General's Department.
  3. Complete and sign an application forms at the Civil Registry.
  4. Return approximately 3 days (if in Trinidad ) and 7 days (if in Tobago) to pick up the Presidents Authority.
  5. Present Presidents Authority to the Warden's Office for the issuance of Marriage Licence will be issued.

  • Valid ID of resident.
  • Original divorce absolute or death certificate of previous spouse and certified translation thereto, if applicable.
  • Copy of Marriage Notice from Warden's Office.
  • Statutory declaration witnessed by Notary Public from party residing abroad (precedent will be provided by Marriage Clerk).
