- Duplicates of a certificate may be issued in case of loss, theft or destruction. They may also be issued in case of deterioration. To obtain a certified copy of a birth certificate, you will need to go to your local district office.
- A link is provided under "Office Locations & Contacts" section which you can use to obtain contact information to different district offices.
- Do not forget to bring a valid identification. The registry personnel will ask for your ID in order to confirm your identity and make sure that you have the right to obtain the certificate.
- Pay the application fee and wait for instructions from the Registrar regarding when can you comeback to collect the certificate.
If you are outside Thailand
- A child born to a Thai parent outside Thailand is entitled to acquire Thai nationality, the child's parents can apply for a birth certificate for their child at the Royal Thai Embassy in the country of birth. You may use the link provided under "Office Locations & Contacts" to get in touch with the nearest Thai Embassy.
- The following documents are required in order to obtain a Thai birth certificate :
- Certificate of Birth or Notification of Live Birth
- 2 copies of the marriage certificate of the parents
- 2 copies of the passport of the father and the passport of the mother
- 2 copies of the identity cards of the father and of the mother
