- To Register for Startup Business India, the applicant has to make their application online via the Startup India portal link
- The applicant has to click the “GET RECOGNISED”.
- The applicant has to click the respective business type “Reapply or Open Draft Application” “Apply as a Company or LLP” and “Apply as Partnership Firm”
- If the applicant is a new user, click the “Sign Up Now” button.
- Enter all the registration details and click the “Sign Up Now” button.
- Now the applicant has to log in with the Email address and password and click the “Sign In” button.
- The applicant has to select the form from the menu list.
- Enter all the details in the application form.
- And upload all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
- Pay the prescribed amount fee in online mode.
- Once completed with all the details click the “Submit” button.
- After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
- Then the application will be processed further. All the updates on the application status will be sent via SMS to the applicant’s mobile number.
- Once the process is completed, the applicant gets a call from the office regarding the application.
- Once the application is approved, the applicant will be issued a Startup India certificate through post. This certificate will allow the applicant to avail the benefits of the Startup India initiative.
- This entire process can be completed within 20 – 30 days or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.

For Private Limited Company:
- Memorandum of Association (MOA): A document defining the company's objectives and scope of operations.
- Articles of Association (AOA): A document specifying the internal regulations and management structure of the company.
- Director Identification Number (DIN): DIN allotment letters for all directors.
- Digital Signature Certificate (DSC): DSC for all directors.
- Certificate of Incorporation (COI): Issued by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA).
- GST registration certificate (if applicable).
- Any other licenses or permits required for the specific business activity.

The eligibility criteria for registering a startup business in India are as follows:
- The startup must be an Indian company incorporated under the Companies Act, 2013.
- The startup must be a private limited company or a limited liability partnership.
- The startup must have been incorporated after 1st April, 2016.
- The startup must have an annual turnover of less than INR 100 crores.
- The startup must be working towards innovation/ improvement of existing products, services, and processes.
- The startup must have the potential to generate employment and create wealth.
