Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. Application form replacing motor vehicle registration Card in Tanzania is available in Tanzania Revenue Authority contact link
2. Applicant must provide all information in the application form.
3. Applicant should make sure to carry both photocopies and originals of all documents that are needed for completing this procedure.
4. Documents that are required for completing this procedure is mentioned under “Required Documents” section of this page.
5. Applicant must attach photocopies of documents (whichever is necessary) along with the application form while submitting it at the office.
6. Fee structure for this procedure is mentioned under “Fees” section of this page.
7. If all the above-mentioned procedures were followed properly, the process will be done within 2 months.
8. If there is no information regarding the replacing is provided by concerned authorities even after 2 months, the applicant can visit the office for knowing status of their application.

Eligibility

Any car owner who has lost or damaged his/her motor vehicle registration card or even if the card is stolen can apply.

Fees

• TZS 50,000 for the duplicate motor vehicle registration card.
• TZS 30,000 for the card for Tricycle.
• TZS 20,000 for motor cycle card.
  

Validity

Registration of a vehicle is valid until the owner changes his ownership to someone else.
