Apply In-Person:

  1. To Renewal of Your License to Practice Nursing in Ghana, the applicant has to approach the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Ghana.
  2. Contact and address details of the office can be found in the following link.contact link
  3. Applicant should obtain the application form from NMC department.
  4. The application must be completed in full and be presented to the Registrar, Nursing and Midwifery Council of Ghana through the applicant’s institution of training.
  5. All applications must be accompanied with a copy of the applicant’s National Identity Card [ID]/passport. Applicants for re-entry to examination must also attach the previous NMC Examination Result Slip.
  6. Payment of appropriate fees should be made and that can be found under the "Fees" section of this page.
  7. Make all necessary payments to obtain application forms and all other necessary documents.
  8. Also, make sure that the applicant has all the documents listed in the “Required documents” section of this page.
  9. Attach the all documents to the forms before submission application to the authority.
  10. The submitted renewal application will be reviewed for reconsideration.
  11. Upon successful review, the applicant will be awarded with a renewed practising license. This usually takes a period of 30 days.
  12. The applicant will be notified to collect his renewed practising license via text or phone call.
  13. One is required to bring proof of identification when collecting the documents.

  • All Nursing Council of Ghana Registration Certificates.
  • Two (2) colored passport size photographs.
  • Expiring original nursing practice license.
  • Evidence of having undergone 40hrs of professional training every year / CPD Log Book.
  • Copy of your National Identity Card [ID]/passport

EligibilityEdit

  • The individual should be registered with the NMC of Ghana and a holder of a practicing license.
  • The practicing license should have been expired. The expiry date is after every 1 year.


FeesEdit

  • The Renewal of Practice License fee is GHS 2000.
  • The express processing (i.e. within 3 days) of a Renewal of Practice License fee is GHS 4000.

  • License is valid for one year.
  • The expiry date is after every 1 year.
