Apply In-Person:

  1. For converting or equating foreign education certificate, the applicant has to visit the Tanzania Commission for Universities contact link
  2. Applicant has to procure the prescribed application form for this service from the Tanzania Commission for Universities.
  3. Applicant has to provide all information in the application form.
  4. Applicant should make sure to carry photocopies and originals of all documents that are necessary for completing this procedure.
  5. Documents that are needed for this procedure is mentioned under “Required Documents” section of this page.
  6. Applicant should attach all documents (photocopies and originals whichever is necessary) along with the application form and then submit it to concerned authorities at the office.
  7. Fee for this procedure has to be paid as per authority’s request.
  8. If all the above-mentioned procedures were followed properly, the converted certificate will be provided to the applicant within 5 days.
  9. Applicant will receive a notification from concerned authorities regarding the availability of the certificate, they can visit the office for collecting their certificate.
  10. If there is no information regarding their certificate, applicant can visit the office to know the status of their application.

  • Foreigners who are willing to work in Tanzania must have converted their education certificate into Tanzanian certificate.
  • Any citizen of Tanzania who studied in abroad but is willing to work in Tanzania for the degree they earned abroad, should convert their certificate into Tanzanian certificate.
