Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. Application form for getting a permit or license for Medicine - Zanzibar import in Tanzania is available in the Tanzania Revenue Authority Contact link
2. Applicant should make sure to provide all necessary information in the application form.
3. Applicant must make sure to carry both photocopies and originals of all documents that are needed for completing this procedure.

5. Applicant must attach photocopies of documents and whichever original document is needed along with the application form while submitting it at the office.

8. Applicant can visit the office and collect their permit once they got the notification.
9. If there is no notification provided by concerned authorities even after 183 to 370 days, then, the applicant can visit the office to know status of their application.

Eligibility

• Any individual or a business owner in Tanzania who is willing to import Medicine - Zanzibar from any other country to Tanzania is eligible.

Fees

Fee for this procedure has to be paid according to the following list,

• TZS 5,000 for application form
• TZS 20,000 for premise registration
• TZS 20,000 for premise inspection
• TZS 1,157,873.81 for registration fee for imported products

Validity

• Import permit is valid for 3 months.

Instructions

• A person shall not import Medicine - Zanzibar out of the country without a valid import permit issued by the Director.
• All Medicine - Zanzibar for importation shall come from the registered animal feed premises in Mainland Tanzania.
• All Medicine - Zanzibar shall be imported through an official port.
