Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To apply for a housing loan in Tanzania, the applicant has to visit the Ministry of Lands, Housing and Human Settlements Development contact link
2. Applicant should obtain the application form from the office and fill it up with all the necessary information in it.
3. Applicant must carry photocopies and originals of all the documents that are needed for completing this procedure.
4. Documents that are needed for completing this procedure are mentioned under “Required Documents” section of this page.
5. Applicant must attach photocopies and originals (whichever is necessary) along with the application form before submitting it at the office.
6. Fee for this procedure has to be paid as per the authority’s request which has to be paid along with the submission of the application form.
7. The receipt of fee payment will be provided by the respective officer at the office, this receipt has to be kept safe with the applicant since it might be needed later.
8. Once the submission is completed, the respective officer will inform the applicant regarding the processing time and the methods for getting their loan.
9. If the applicant did not receive the loan amount within the mentioned time, they can visit the office to know the status of their application.

• Proof of IT payment (for self-employed)
• NOC from the society/builders
• Detailed estimate cost of construction of the house
• Registered Sale deed, the allotment letter, or stamped agreement of sale with the builder
• Occupancy certificate
• Property tax receipts, Maintenance bills, and electricity bills
• Receipt of advance payments made towards the purchase of the flat
• Copy of the building plan
• Original of the land tax paid receipt and possession certificate as issued by TRA
