Apply Online:

  1. Please use the following link to reach the online portal to link Aadhaar with electricity Service connection number Link
  2. In the given page, please select the menu “CONSUMER INFO” > “TANGEDCO-Link your Service Connection number with Aadhaar” sub option to reach the “TANGEDCO Link Aadhar” page.
  3. The consumer shall enter their consumer number at the prompted space against the “Service Connection Number” and click on the “Enter” button.
  4. The user will reach the “SERVICE DETAILS” page. Here, the consumer number and the registered mobile for that particular connection will be displayed.
  5. At the same time, an “OTP” will be delivered to the registered mobile number.
  6. Please fill up the received “OTP” at the prompted space as appropriate and then click on the “Enter” button to reach the “Consumer ID documents uploading” page.
  7. This page will have the details of the consumer as per the records and also few prompts will be provided.
  8. Please complete the prompts as appropriate. Enter the Aadhaar number and name as in Aadhaar at the prompted space as applicable.
  9. Please upload the Aadhaar using the “+ Browse” button.
  10. Please click on the checkbox for the declaration and then click on the “Submit” button to submit the request.
  11. Once the submission is completed, a system generated acknowledgement will be provided.
  12. An “SMS” notification will be sent to the applicant registered mobile number. Please save it for future reference.
  13. There is no fee required for this service.
  14. The linking will be made instantly.


Apply through TANGEDCO:

  1. Please use the following link to reach the online portal to link Aadhaar with electricity Service connection number Link
  2. In the given “SERVICE DETAILS” page, the consumer shall enter their consumer number at the prompted space against the “Service Connection Number” and please enter the mobile number as appropriate. Please enter the given captcha at the prompted space as applicable and click on the “Enter” button.
  3. The user will reach the “Consumer details and aadhaar” page.
  4. Here, the connection number, consumer name will be provided. The consumer shall select the respective “Occupant details” and then enter the aadhaar number at the prompted space as appropriate.
  5. Please click on the checkbox for the declaration and then click on the “Send OTP” button.
  6. An “OTP” will be delivered to the registered mobile number.
  7. In the resulting page, please fill up the received “OTP” at the prompted space as appropriate and then click on the “Submit” button.
  8. Once the submission is completed, a system generated acknowledgement will be provided.
  9. An “SMS” notification will be sent to the applicant registered mobile number. Please save it for future reference.
  10. There is no fee required for this service.
  11. The linking will be made instantly.


Apply In-Person:

  1. Any eligible consumer of the respective state electricity board, shall approach their concerned electricity bill payment office/counter as appropriate to link Aadhaar with electricity connection (consumer) number.
  2. Link for contact link for contact please use the options provided in this page as appropriate for the concerned office contact details.
  3. Please visit the respective office as applicable. The consumer should carry their electricity card or the last bill paid receipt and the Aadhaar card copy along with the original.
  4. The applicant shall orally request the authority for linking the Aadhaar card with their electricity consumer number.
  5. The authority will start the process immediately or the authority will ask the applicant to visit the office as per notified timing.
  6. At the time of process, the applicant needs to submit the Aadhaar card along with the documents as per the “Required Documents” section of this page. Please carry the registered mobile number.
  7. The authorities/staff will use the details from the submitted documents and process the request using a system.
  8. The applicant shall follow the authorities / staff guidelines to get the Aadhaar linked with their electricity connection.
  9. A “SMS” notification will be sent to the applicant registered mobile number. Please save it for future reference.
  10. There is no fee required for this service.

  2. In the given page, the consumer shall look for the “Pay online” section to know how to pay online.
  3. In the online payment page, please use the department provided link to attach Aadhaar with the electricity connection number as appropriate.

    • A copy of request made for Aadhaar enrolment

EligibilityEdit

  • Those who are availing electricity as per subsidy slabs are eligible to link Aadhaar with the respective electricity connection.
  • The consumers as stated below come under the subsidy slab.
    • Domestic connections.
    • Hut dwellers (free supply).
    • Agricultural connections (free supply).
    • Hand loom (first 200 units free).
    • Power loom connections (first 750 units free and charges as per domestic slab for subsequent consumption).
    • Places of public worship.

ValidityEdit

  • Once the Aadhaar is linked, the consumers have fulfilled the government order to make them valid for the subsidy (So far no deadline is fixed for the linking).
  • The validity of the electricity connection remains the same.

Need for the DocumentEdit

  • As per the respective state government electricity norms, the subsidy is provided for the selective segment of consumers.
  • In order to avoid subsidy being provided to fraudulent or consumers having more than one connection, the government has insisted the consumers to link the Aadhaar with their electricity consumer number.
  • This step is initiated to make sure that the subsidy is reaching the needy and to curb the fraudulent consumers.
