Sweden - Obtain a AM Moped Class I Driving License

1.) You need a valid driving permit to practice driving and make driving tests. When you apply for a provisional driving license checks Transport Agency if you meet the demands of society on everyone to take a driving license.

If you do not hold any driver's license, you must first apply for a learner's permit.

2.) You must be able to meet personal and medical requirements for driving license. The Transport Agency will look into your ability to follow traffic rules, and check if you have been taken into custody by the police because you were too drunk, or if you have done any crime.

3.) Education

Driver training is in two parts, theoretical and practical. Learning how to drive and traffic rules are discussed in the theory part of the program.

The training shall be conducted by an authorized instructor and 12 hours long. Of these, at least four hours of practical training, where practice driving in traffic included. The rest is a theoretical education. In total, there are more than 12 hours of training, depending on how you do the theoretical and practical goals.

Syllabus

The syllabus for the privilege AM (moped class I) indicates the direction and the goals of the education. You do not need to get any study material, the trainer is responsible for the material you need.

4.) Theory Test

Through the knowledge test, you should show that you have knowledge so that you can run with the review of the traffic. To get a license for AM (moped class I) you must have a passing grade on the knowledge test. You do not need to do any driving test.

The theory test consists of 65 questions. In addition, there are five test questions. The answers to the test questions are not included in the results. The test time is 50 minutes. You must correctly answer at least 52 of the 65 questions for the test to be approved.

To do the test at the Swedish Transport Administration, you must be able to prove your identity with an acceptable and valid identification document (ID card), and the photo on the ID document must be good likeness.

Beginning January 19, 2013, any person who will perform the test for driver's license must have their photographs taken at the Swedish Transport Administration before the test. You can not bring your own photo. Shooting will take place with the Transport Administration photographic equipment available at all locations where it is possible to make the thesis.

5.) After the test

You must correctly answer at least 52 of the 65 questions in the test to pass. If you answered wrong on some issues, it is in the written decision which areas of knowledge the questions concerned.

Accepted theory

Right after the test the examiner will tell you if the test is approved and will send the result to the Transportation Board. You will be notified then via registered mail on when your license will be available, which you must collect in person within two months after receiving mail. You must present an acceptable and valid identification document (ID card).

Until you have received the license you must at all times carry with you a document proving your identity, such as a passport or ID card. Driving with an ID document is valid only during these two months. Once you have received your license you must have it with you every time you drive.

Failed driving test

If the driving test is not approved, you'll know it right after the test. The driving examiner will explain to you why you did not pass and about your driving deficiencies.

Other EU passport issued from September 1, 2006: passport that meets the requirements of Council Regulation (EC) No 2252/2004 of 13 December 2004 on standards for security features and biometrics in passports and travel documents issued in the Member States.

The following documents are not accepted as an identity document: foreign identity card, Swedish provisional passports, seaman's passport, alien's passports and diplomatic passports.

Exemptions from the requirement to present an acceptable identity document can be granted by the Swedish Transport Administration for special application. Applications must be made on a prescribed form and sent to any of the Transport Administration examiners office in advance of the test date. The identity shall be established by a parent, guardian, spouse, registered partner, cohabitant or child authoritatively declare in writing that the information about the applicant's identity is correct. The decision by the Swedish Transport Administration exemption should be brought to the test date. The certifier must attend and be able to prove their identity with an acceptable and valid ID at the time of the test.

EligibilityEdit

In order to practice driving, you should:

be at least 14 years and 9 months if you should practice driving with Scooter (AM - moped class I)
have a valid driving license and
be enrolled in an educator and practicing driving there. Private practice is not allowed.

To get an AM license, there are six requirements you need to meet:

You must have a driving license.
You are a permanent resident in Sweden or have been studying here for at least six months.
You've been training with a qualified trainer.
You have turned 15.
You have done an approved thesis.
