The Royal Automobile Club (KAK)

1.) Download and fill up the application form: http://www.kak.se/intkorkort.html?file=tl_files/kak/dokument/ansokan_internationellt_korkort.pdf


2.) Put the form along with all the required documents in an envelope and send to:

3.) Pay the fee. Do not forget the postage cost. Put a note on the top of the application that you paid by bank transfer. They will administer your application as soon as the money available to them, processing can take up to 5 working days depending on weekends, postal mm.


4.) You can also visit us at KAK's office in Stockholm. Please check their opening hours.

They will administer your license while you wait and you can pay in cash. You can complete the application on the spot when you collect your license. Please bring the necessary supporting documents.

Motorists' Helnykterhetsfrbund (MHF)

2.) Submit your application with attachments via mail to your nearest agent(Follow link to view list:http://www.mhf.se/sv-SE/internationellt-korkort/kontakt-ombud/) Certain agent also receives direct visits.


3.) Your order will be sent by cash on delivery via USPS within a week. For further assistance, call: 08-555765 55 and ask for the International driver or email us at: [email protected].

  • Copy of your driver's license (front and back) and get a certified copy
  • Photo of you sized (3,5 x4, 5 cm). Write your name on the back


Motorists' Helnykterhetsfrbund (MHF)

  • Portrait photo of you (4 x 5 cm)
  • Photocopy of your driver's license, both front and rear. (Note: The copy must be certified by two persons with the specified address, telephone number and dated within 14 days of the submission)

You can get an international driver's license if you have a valid Swedish driving license.

for members of KAK - Free

Non-member 200 SEK

Shipping price (SEK 20 in Sweden, 30 kr internationally)


  • International driver's license 3-year (1968 Convention)

Payment by payment to KAK's bank. Note on the application form at the top of that payment was made by bank transfer.

Motorists' Helnykterhetsfrbund (MHF)

  • The price of IKK is 150 for MHF members (MHF / MHF-Support / MHF-Youth) and 210 for the other. Record fees apply for postal advance.

If you're driving a car, or other vehicle, in a country outside the European Economic Area * you should have an international driving license.

International driving licenses are issued by:

  • The Royal Automobile Club (KAK)
  • Motorists' Helnykterhetsfrbund (MHF)
  • Automobile Association (M)
  • OK Market Service / leading automobile
  • Swedish Motorcyclists (SMC)
  • Caravan Club of Sweden

The international driving license is just a translation of your Swedish license. You still need to bring your Swedish driving license with you when driving abroad.

Need for the DocumentEdit

An International Driving Permit (IDP) allows the holder to drive a private motor vehicle in a country other than the one who issued the permit. This document must be accompanied by a valid license from the home country to be valid.

An IDP is usually slightly larger than a standard passport and translated in multiple languages of the holders normal driver's license.
