Renew in the DMV Office

• Pass the tests
  • screening test or
  • provide an eye examination
  • Knowledge test

• Provide your vehicle insurance information
• Under 65, renew for 10 years
• Above 65, renew for 5 years
• Pay for the fees : 10 years renewal - $25.00; 5 years renewal - $12.50

Renew by Mail

• Complete Form DL-63
• Examination certificate obtained within 12 months.
• Mail it to DMV with attached fees

Instructions

• Go to DMV/Mail your renewal application
• Fill up the required form
• Pass the tests
• Pay the fees

Required Information

• Name
• Date and place of birth
• Resident of South Carolina
• US Citizen

Need for the Document

Either every 5th or 10th year, your drivers license is due for renewal. Make sure to renew your license in the office or by mail before the date of expiry or you can do it online.
