During lockdown, Applications are welcome through the email address of the South African Civil Aviations Authority.
Apply through email

  1. To apply for Validating Foreign Cabin Crew License through email, the applicant has to lodge the applications through email address of the South African Civil Aviations Authority.
  2. The address and contact details of the South African Civil Aviations Authority can be found in the following link: Link
  3. Download the Application for Validation Of Foreign Cabin Crew Licence by clicking the following link: Link
  4. Make sure that you have all the documents listed in the “Required documents” section of this page.
  5. Now, complete the application form with appropriate information under relevant sections. Attest it with your signature once completed.
  6. Then, pay the applicable fees as directed to the relevant bank account. Find the information regarding payment in the office website or contact the office.
  7. After paying the fees, make scanned copies of the required documents and the completed application form. Proceed to submit it through the following email address: [email protected]
  8. Indicate the license number of the particular category that you are applying as the subject of the mail.
  9. Then, the application will be forwarded to the concerned authorities for further verification processes.
  10. Once the verification and validation processes are over, the application will be approved and the validation will be processed for issuance.
  11. When the validation is ready to be collected, the applicant will be sent an SMS from the office and the applicant can collect it by themselves or arrange a courier service for collection.

  • Valid Medical Certificate copy (obtained either in SA or abroad)
  • Valid Passport (Certified copy)
  • Two photographs of the license/document holder (passport sixe)
  • Completed CA 64-20 form
  • Payment receipt/proof

EligibilityEdit

  • Any person, who has obtained a Cabin Crew license, rating or a Competency card and wishes to act as a member in a South African registered aircraft, can apply for a validation.
  • The standard of the document to be validated must co-exist with the standards specified in the Civil Aviation Regulations.


FeesEdit

  • The validation process costs R710.00.


ValidityEdit

  • The validation may be valid for a maximum period of twelve months from issued date or it may be synchronised with the license under the respective category.

Need for the DocumentEdit

  • A foreigner, who holds a cabin crew license, rating or a Competency card and wants to act on a South African registered aircraft as a crew member, is required to obtain a validation from the South African Civil Aviations Authority for that particular category of document.
