Apply In-Person:

  1. To apply for Information from the Deeds Registry in person, the applicant has to visit the nearest office of the Deeds Registries in his/her province.

  3. Visit the office of Deeds Registries and obtain an application form to apply for information Deeds Registries, from the information desk of the office.
  4. Make sure that you have all the documents listed in the “Required documents” section of this page.
  5. Complete the application form with relevant details as required and attest it with your signature and date of application.
  6. Submit the application form and required documents to the concerned official at the information desk of the office.
  7. Please cooperate with the official assisting you and follow his/her directions properly to complete the process of requesting a search on the property.
  8. Please pay the prescribed fees at the cashier’s office and the receipt number will be allocated to your copy of title which is the proof that you have applied.



Apply Online - To Apply for information from the Deeds Registry Online with Images

  1. To apply for Information from the Deeds Registry online, you have to visit the following link: Link
  2. Visit the link and login by entering the user credentials in the respective fields and clicking “Login” button, if you already have registered in the portal. Else, proceed to register as a new user by clicking “Create Account” button.
  3. In the Terms and Conditions page, click “I Agree” button. Enter the personal and required details in the Registration page and click “Submit Application” button to submit and register.
  4. Now, login with the help of the user details and enter into the portal. Click the Online application link in the portal and click the applicable option to proceed.
  5. New Account confirmation page will be displayed, read the information carefully and do as instructed. First you will have to pay the fees prescribed by any mode that is mentioned in the above mentioned page.
  6. Then you will have to send scanned copies of all the documents listed in the “Required documents” section of this page, to the email address [email protected].
  7. After getting your account activated, login using the user credentials in the login page and proceed to apply for information from the deeds registry.
  8. Access the applicable options and do as instructed on the screen to lodge your application. Submit the necessary documents as well and also pay the prescribed fees.
  9. Then, the application and provided documents will be taken to further verification and validation processes.
  10. If the application is found appropriate and in order, you will served with the purpose of your application.

  • Any person who wants to access information about a property, sectional title scheme or plan or an ante nuptial contract, can apply.
  • The person applying must possess a valid Identity document and should possess minimum information about the property holder like the correct erf number and township or farm name and number.

Before you can obtain information, you must have the following ready:

  • Full names and/or identity number of the owner of property, or at least his or her date of birth. (In the case of a juristic person, the name and registration number, if available, is necessary.)
  • The correct erf number and township or farm name and number, not the street address. (In the case of a sectional title scheme, the section and the scheme name are required.)

The Deeds Office is responsible for the registration, management and maintenance of the property registry of South Africa. It also keeps copies of ante nuptial contracts.
