ProcedureEdit

Apply In-Person:

  1. To Obtain a Driver Licence Verification Certificate, the applicant must go to the Road Traffic Management Corporation (RTMC) office. Contact Link
  2. The applicant must submit a request letter stating the reason for the requirement of the DL verification certificate.
  3. Make sure that you have all the documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  4. The application form along with the other required documents must be submitted to the authorities at the RTMC office.
  5. The concerned person in the department will investigate and verify the current SA’s driving license.
  6. If the documents and the driving history is clear and legitimate, then the RTMC officer will issue the DL Verification Certificate to the applicant.
  7. The “Driver License Verification Certificate” fee is approximately R 3750.00.
  8. The process to obtain the “DL Verification Certificate” will take approximately 2 to 6 weeks.


Note: If the applicant processes the application through the “documentation experts”, then the process of getting the “DL Verification Certificate” will only take up to 4 – 15 working days of time.

  • The “Driver License Verification Certificate” fee is approximately R 3750.00.



ValidityEdit

  • The validity period differs based on the “date of issue” of the driver’s license. Therefore, the validity will be mentioned in the Driver’s License Verification Certificate issued to the applicant.

Need for the DocumentEdit

  • If the applicant is planning to migrate to another country, and wishes to obtain Foreign License, then he/she will require the “Driver’s License Verification Certificate” from the SA’s RTMC department. This certificate will serve as the proof that the individual has a valid driving license.
