Apply In-Person:

  1. To make a payment to South African Revenue Services in person, the person concerned must visit any SARS recommended bank or a SARS Customs and Excise branch.
  2. Contact links for recommended banks and SARS Customs and Excise branch can be found in the “Office Locations & Contacts” section in this page.
  3. Visit any of the above mentioned offices as applicable and obtain information about making payment to SARS.
  4. Follow the instructions of the official at the office and complete the payment as required.
  5. In case if you are paying at any recommended bank, you will have to possess the correct beneficiary ID and payment reference number (PRN) with you and provide wherever necessary.
  6. You can choose either cash or cheque in case if you make the payment at any SARS Customs and Excise branch.


Apply through eFiling - Online Make a payment to SARS (South African Revenue Service) Online with Images

  1. To make a payment to South African Revenue Services through eFiling, the account holder has to access and make use of the Credit push functionality.
  2. Make sure that you possess a bank account that supports access to the Credit push functionality.
  3. If yes, login to your eFiling account by visiting the following link: Link
  4. Visit the link and click “Login” button. Then, enter your username, click “Next” button and enter your password, click “Login” button.
  5. After logging in, click “home” button and “user” button on the left side (in case if your portfolio is individual) or click “organisations” button and again “organisations” button which on left side (for organisation or tax practitioner portfolios).
  6. Then, click “Banking details” option in the next page and click “Setup new account” button correspondingly.
  7. In the ‘Banking Information’ page, select “Credit Push” radio button, further enter your account name and select applicable banking product from the drop-down in which you want to make payment using credit push.
  8. With respect to the banking product that you have selected, further fields will appear which you have to complete for setting up the credit push.
  9. After completing, file the return and get the assessment by performing relevant actions after which you will get a “Make payment” button on the screen.
  10. Click on it and further click “Pay now” button in the ‘Payment Summary’ page. Click “Ok” in the dialogue that appears.
  11. Locate “Additional Payments” option under “Returns” menu on the left side and make a click on “Create Additional Payment” option. Additional payment page will appear in which you have to provide the required details and click “Make payment” button.
  12. A page containing the list of outstanding payments will appear. Make the selection of your choice and click “Make electronic payment” button.
  13. After that, click “Pay now” button in the ‘payment details’ dialogue, correspondingly click “Confirm” button in the payment confirmation dialogue. Then, make sure that you want make this payment and click “ok” button in the message.
  14. You will be displayed a Payment initiation result after which you have to login into your net banking module of the respective bank and authenticate the transaction as applicable. Then, corresponding will be performed successfully and you will be notified about it.


Apply through SARS MobiApp - Make a payment to SARS (South African Revenue Service) through SARS Mobile Application Online with Images

  1. To make a payment to South African Revenue Services through Mobile application, you have to download the SARS Mobile eFiling app by clicking the following link: Link
  2. Download the app in your mobile and open the app. If you are already registered as a taxpayer and have the user credentials, tap “Login” button and enter the username, tap “Next” button and enter Password, tap “Next” button.
  3. After logged in, you can proceed to change the registered particulars with the help of the supporting documents that you have prepared.
  4. Tap “Profile Management” option in the landing page and upload the changed documents in the portal or do as prompted to change the registered particulars.
  5. Otherwise, after downloading open the app, in the first screen, tap “Yes, I Accept” to accept the terms and conditions.
  6. After that, tap “Register” button, in registration page, enter the personal details and tap “Next” button. In next page, enter contact and login details and tap “Next” button.
  7. Since you are a new applicant, you have to provide your personal information in next page. Fill the mandatory fields and tap “Submit” button. The “Registration Request Received” message will appear and your case number will be displayed which you should use to follow up on your registration case.
  8. Take note of whether there is correspondence received to complete a questionnaire or upload supporting documents. Also note the ‘Query Status’ tab which details the progress of your registration.
  9. If you are required to complete the questionnaire, take note of the requirements. You can log out by tapping on “Log Out” or complete the questionnaire later by tapping on “Save for Later.”
  10. Otherwise, tap “continue” button to proceed to upload documents or “save for later” button to continue this process later.
  11. If you tap “continue” button, you will be redirected to a page where you can upload the required documents by tapping “Upload” button, after uploading tap “Submit” button.
  12. Confirm submission dialogue will appear, tap “Continue” button if you are sure or “cancel” button if you want to recheck. After this, you will be redirected to the beginning page. You can tap “Query status” button to check the status of application.
  13. Upload more relevant and required documents as instructed and tap “Submit” button and complete the registration process as prompted.
  14. Once your documents have been validated the “Complete Registration” button will be displayed on your Registration Work screen.
  15. Tap on “Complete Registration” button. You will be prompted to select your preferred method of communication for eFiling security purposes.
  16. Select either ‘Cell number’ option or ‘Email’ option and click “Continue” button. The One Time Pin (OTP) page will be displayed which requests you to complete the last 6 digits of your OTP sent through to your preferred method of communication.

  18. Complete the OTP and tap on “Submit” button. If the OTP completed is correct, a message will be displayed. Upon completion of your registration, you are now required to login to the MobiApp by making use of your Username and Password.
  19. On the Welcome page, complete your Username and Password tap on “Login” button. Once you have logged in, you will be presented with the Terms and Conditions of eFiling. Once noted and are in agreement with the SARS eFiling Terms and Conditions, tap on “I Accept” button.
  20. Locate ‘Statement of Account’ or ‘Notice of Assessment (ITA34)’ functionality in the application and activate it by following the on-screen instructions. Note that you have to make the selection as applicable to the amount that you like to pay for the time being.
  21. If you select ITA34, you will be displayed an amount that is due to SARS and you must pay that full amount. Likewise, if you select SOA, you may make the payment of your choice.
  22. After selecting, complete the payment by following the on-screen instructions and providing the essential details as required by the SARS.


Apply through Electronic Funds Transfer

  1. To make a payment to South African Revenue Services through Electronic Fund Transfer, the person concerned must make the payment to SARS via his/her internet banking facilities.
  2. Make sure that your bank account in any of the banks that has been list of recommended banks by SARS.
  3. Login into your bank’s internet banking app or website and proceed to make an Electronic Fund Transfer as instructed on the screen.
  4. SARS will have a separate beneficiary ID for each tax type and that will be present under the beneficiary ID’s drop-down menu in the transaction module.
  5. You can identify a SARS beneficiary ID by following syntax: SARS- <Tax Type>.
  6. Select a beneficiary ID as applicable to the requirement and complete the payment by following the on-screen instructions.
  7. Make sure that you provide an appropriate Payment Reference Number while making a payment.
