Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To Grants for Small R and D Projects, the applicant must go to the Industrial Development Corporation Office (IDC) in South Africa. Contact Link
2. The applicant must submit a proposal letter to the respective authorities in the IDC office.
3. There are two programs available for Small R&D project, namely, Product Process Development Scheme and Matching Scheme.
4. Make sure that you have all the documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
5. All the necessary documents must be submitted to respective authorities in the IDC office.
6. After verifying the documents completely, if the company qualifies the eligibility requirements set by the IDC board, then the approval for the small R&D projects Fund will be granted and sanctioned to the applicant.
7. There are no fee or charges to file the incentive/grant application.
8. The processing time will be intimated to the applicant while applying.

• Any South African private-sector enterprises can apply to the Small R&D grant application for specific provisions under the different schemes.
