Apply In-Person:
- To apply for getting Customs Clearance Declaration in person, the applicant has to visit any nearest Customs office.
- The contact and address details of the Customs office in various locations are listed in the following link: Link
- Visit any nearest Customs Office branch and obtain an Application form for getting Customs Clearance Declaration from the respective department. Or click here to download: Link
- Complete the form as required with relevant details under respective sections. Make sure that you have all the documents listed in the “Required documents” section of this page.
- After completing, attach all the documents required for the process with the completed form.
- Then, proceed to submit the package to the relevant authority at the branch office for further processes. Make the necessary payment as directed.
- After all the processes have got completed, the concerned authorities will proceed to make the necessary actions for the clearance issue process.
- The applicant can obtain any information regarding the progress of his/her request, from the office where the application has been made.

- Any importer or exporter should apply for a Customs Clearance when he/she wants to any import/export process.
- The person applying must possess relevant registration or license as prescribed in Registration, Licensing and Designation external policy.

Need for the DocumentEdit
Every importer, exporter, owner of the goods or his / her agent must, before the goods are imported into or exported from South Africa, lodge a CCD for processing and release by Customs. CCDs are legal statements and are binding on importers and exporters and as such CCD(s) must be completed accurately in all respects.
