Apply In-Person:

  1. To apply for getting Accreditation as a provider of Education and Training in person, the applicant has to visit the relevant Education and Training Quality Assurance (ETQA) authority in his/her province.
  2. The address and contact details of the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) can be found in the following link: Link
  3. You can seek the assistance of the SAQA in finding a relevant ETQA authority as applicable to you.
  4. Visit the relevant ETQA authority and get an application form to apply for getting Accreditation as a provider of Education and Training, from the respective department.
  5. Make sure that you have all the documents listed in the “Required documents” section of this page.
  6. Complete the application form as applicable to your requirement and relevant information. Attach all the required documents with the completed Application form and submit it at the respective department at the authority.
  7. After submission, the application form and attached documents will be verified and validated correspondingly by the concerned officials.
  8. If your application met the requirements set by the SAQA and all the documents submitted are found in order, your request will be processed.
  9. After all the processes are over, the applicant will be registered as an accredited provider of Education and Training by the SAQA.

  • The concerned provider must have already registered with the Department of Higher Education and Training.
  • The unit standards and/or qualifications offered by the provider must fall within the primary focus area of the ETQA body of the relevant Sector Education and Training Authority (SETA) or professional body.

  • The applicant will have to send a letter of his/her intention to be accredited as a provider of education and training to the relevant ETQA authority, before visiting directly.
  • If you are not granted accreditation and you feel the process was unfair, the applicant have the provision to appeal at the concerned authority.
