Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To apply or renew license for Music School in person, the applicant has to visit the office of the South African Music Rights Organisation.
2. The address and contact details of the SAMRO can be found in the following link: Link
3. Visit the office and get an application form to apply or renew a music school license from the respective department.
4. Make sure that you have all the documents listed in the “Required documents” section of this page.
5. Now, complete the application form with appropriate information under relevant sections. Attest it with your signature once completed.
6. Once completed filling the application form, make scanned copies of the required documents and the completed application form. Proceed to submit it through the following email address: [email protected]
7. Or choose a postal service of your choice and post the application package to the postal address of SAMRO.
8. You can also fax it to the fax number of SAMRO or submit it by yourself in person to the relevant authority at the office.

10. After submission, within 14 days, the applicant will receive an invoice containing the payment terms and stipulated type of license for your business.
11. Pay the applicable fees as directed to the relevant bank account. Find the information regarding payment in the office website or contact the office.
12. When the payment has been done and once the verification and validation processes are over, the application will be approved and the officials will proceed to take required steps to issue the license or renewed document of license.
13. When the licensedocument is ready to be collected, an SMS will be sent to the applicant from the office and the applicant can collect it by themselves or arrange a courier service for collection.

• Any license holder of a music school, who wants to renew the license, can also apply.

Need for the Document
