Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To Apply for ECD Program Certificate, the applicant has to approach the respective district municipality offices link

   Note: The applicant can click on the map to explore municipalities by province, or search for any municipality, town, person, etc. using the search function.

2. The applicant must choose an accredited ECD training provider that offers a program that is recognized by the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA).
3. Once the applicant has selected an accredited training provider, the applicant must enroll in their ECD program. The program will provide the applicant with the necessary knowledge and skills to work in the ECD sector.
4. Once the applicant is completed the program successfully, An application form will be provided to the applicant by the concerned officer.
5. The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
6. Make sure that the applicant has attached all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
7. The applicant has to attach the photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting.
8. Submit all the documents with the completed form to the concerned officer.
9. There is no fee for ECD Program Certificate.
10. After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
11. Then the application will be processed further.
12. Once the process gets completed, the applicant will get the certificate from the office.
13. This entire process can be completed within 3 months or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.
