Procedure

Apply In-person

1. To apply for a Duplicate Registration Certificate of an Aircraft in person, the applicant has to visit the office of the South African Civil Aviations Authority.
2. The address and contact details of the South African Civil Aviations Authority can be found in the following link: Link
3. Visit the office and obtain an Application for duplicate certificate of registration as required from the relevant department. Or click here to download: Link
4. Make sure that you have all the documents listed in the “Required documents” section of this page.
5. Now, complete the application form with appropriate information under relevant sections. Attest it with your signature once completed.
6. Then, pay the applicable fees as directed to the relevant bank account. Find the information regarding payment in the office website or contact the office.
7. After paying the fees, attach all the required documents with the completed application and submit it to the relevant official at the office.
8. Then, the application will be forwarded to the concerned authorities for further verification processes.
9. Once the verification and validation processes are over, the application will be approved and the officials will proceed to take required steps for the Duplicate Certificate issuance.
10. When the Duplicate Registration Certificate is ready to be collected, the applicant will be sent an SMS from the office and the applicant can collect it by themselves or arrange a courier service for collection.

1. To apply for a Duplicate Registration Certificate of an Aircraft through mail, the applicant must apply through a registered mail at the office of the South African Civil Aviations Authority.

5. Now, complete the application form with appropriate information under relevant sections. Attest it with your signature once completed.

Eligibility

• Any person whose Aircraft Registration certificate is lost, stolen, damaged or destroyed by any means can apply to obtain a Duplicate Certificate.
• An approved Aircraft Maintenance Organisation which owes the servicing and maintenance responsibility of the corresponding aircraft can also apply.

Fees

• For a Duplicate Aircraft Registration Certificate issuance: R410.00

Need for the Document

• Any person or business that has a registered Aircraft in possession registration certificate has been lost, stolen, damaged or destroyed, must notify the Civil Aviations Authority and obtain a Duplicate Certificate of Registration.
