Procedure

Apply by Email:

1. To apply for Copies of Building Plans Certificate, the applicant must visit the Municipality office of the concerned area in South Africa Link
2. The prescribed application form should be obtained from the authorities at Municipality office in the concerned location.
3. Make sure that you have all the documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
4. The filled application form and the required documents must be sent to the respective Municipality department’s official mail ID.
5. After receiving the application form request, the Municipality will search for the copies of the original building plan.
6. After that the copies of the building plan will be sent to the applicant’s mail ID.
7. The Municipality charges “search fee” for the retrieving the copies of the building plan, which is anywhere between R140 to R300, depending on the type of building.
8. The processing time for this procedure will be provided via E-mail or SMS after which the applicant can either download the digital copy sent in the Email or visit the office to get their certificate.
