Apply In-Person:
- To apply for Community Broadcasting service License in person, the applicant has to visit the office of the Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA).
- The contact and address details of the Independent Communications Authority of South Africa can be found in the following link: Link
- Visit the office of ICASA and obtain Form B to apply for Community Broadcasting Service License from the relevant department.
- You can also find the application form in page number 22 of the following document: Link
- Make sure that you have all the documents listed in the “Required documents” section of this page, when you visit the office.
- Complete the form as required with relevant details under respective sections. After completing the application form, attach the required documents with the completed form.
- Then, proceed to submit it to the relevant authority at the office in person for further processes. Make the necessary payment as directed.
- After submission, the completed form and corresponding documents will be put into further verification and validation processes.
- Once all the processes got completed, the authorities will perform necessary actions for the license issuance process.

EligibilityEdit
- Any non-profit organisation that wants to serve the broadcasting needs of a community is eligible to apply.
- The organisation for which license is sought must have registered and run for a non-profit cause since a minimum period of two years prior to the application lodgement.

ValidityEdit
The license under this category can be granted for a maximum period of four years.

- For special event community sound licences for a period not exceeding 45 days, applicants are required to complete and submit to the Authority Form N, which can be found in page number 66 of the following document: Link
- All broadcasting licence applications must include five hard copies, as well as an electronic copy of the application, and must be submitted to the registry.
