Procedure

Apply Online

1. To Obtain Rice License, the applicant has to make the application in GoBusiness licensing portal or tap the following Link
2. The applicant has to login with either singpass app or Singpass Id number and password

   Note: If you don’t not have an account you can register by clicking on register for singpass, read the information marked 1 and 2 and agree to the terms and condition and click on register now, no the next page entry your personal information and submit. You will be issued with you Sing Pass ID number and password.

3. The applicant has to necessary information and submit the required document that are mentioned in “Required Documents” section of this page.
4. After submitting the documents review the application and click submit.
5. The applicant needs to pay the license fee $50 via credit or debit card.

• Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority (ACRA) certificate
• NRIC or Foreign IC (for non-Singaporeans with work permit) of the applicants

The license fee to obtain rice license is $50

• The validity of license is one year.

Need for the Document

• In Singapore, rice is a controlled item under the Price Control Act (Chapter 244) and the Price Control (Rice) 1990 issued by the Minister of Trade and Industry.
• A licence is required to import (into Singapore or Singapore Free Trade Zone), re-export and carry-on wholesale dealings in rice.
