Apply In-Person from overseas

  1. Applicants shall visit the nearby office of embassy.
  2. Refer the office contact details in the “Office contacts & Locations” section below for address details.
  3. The embassy will help you to forward the application to theSingapore Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA)
  4. Collect the application form from the office.
  5. Now complete the form with the necessary information and make sure you have all the documents in hand that are listed under the “Required Documents” section of this page. The form should be notarised, signed, and dated by a local notary public in your area.
  6. Attach the documents mentioned in the “Required Documents” section below with the completed application forms.
  7. Arrange an appointment with the officer to submit the application
  8. Check the application form and then submit it to the concerned authority.
  9. Now pay the required fee to the concerned authority.
  10. The officer after validating the application form and the documents will provide you with an acknowledgement/receiving slip.
  11. Once it is processed, the embassy will inform the applicant.
  12. The applicant will be required to carry the acknowledgement/receiving slip when going to collect the document.
  13.  If you would like to receive the citizenship certificate by mail, please include a self-addressed stamped envelope.


Apply Online

  1. The sponsor of the applicant who is a Singapore citizen or Permanent Resident has to visit the website in the below link:online link
  2. Click on “Singapore citizen”or “Permanent Resident” button.
  3. In the next page, click on “Apply for PR”.
  4. Log into the SingPass account by typing the “SingPass ID” and “Password” if you have account. Otherwise, you can create account by clicking on “Register now” button.
  5. In the following page, click on “My Parent(s)”
  6. You can download the application form, fill it electronically and upload the form or fill in the PR application form online.
  7. If you prefer to do offline, download the form, fill it and upload it by selecting “Upload completed form” button. Otherwise, click on “apply online”.
  8. Application should be submitted within 7 days after your online application starts.
  9. Fill in the required information in the disclosure page.
  10. Fill in the required details for each person in the personnel list and click on “Proceed” button.
  11. Review all the information by following the page prompts.
  12. Check the time and other details and click on “proceed” button.
  13. Click on “Upload documents” to upload the required documents by following the page prompts.
  14. You can exit the document upload module by clicking on the “Return to e-Service” button.
  15. Then, you can make payment by clicking on “Make payment” button.
  16. Check the summary and click on “Proceed to payment” button.
  17. After successful submission of the application, the acknowledgement page will be displayed.
  18. All applications are carefully reviewed by ICA. The application process includes Data Verification, Document Verification, Processing, Outcome finalisation and Notification of outcome
  19. The outcome will be informed through post. You can check the status of your application through the link:online link Click on “Enquire application status” button
  20. You can book an e-Appointment for completion of formalities in the following link:online link In the drop down menu, select “completion of formalities for successful applicants” under the heading “Permanent Resident”. Fill in the required details and submit by clicking on the “submit” button.
  21. The applicant has to complete the formalities at the ICA Building. The applicant may be asked to attend an interview in person if required. The ICA will contact the applicant regarding this. The applicant can then become a Permanent Resident.

Required DocumentsEdit

The documents required from the applicant(s) are as follows:

  • Valid travel document with valid Immigration Pass and passport pages having personal particulars and official descriptions
  • Identity card (if applicable)
  • Deed Poll or change of name certificate (if applicable)
  • Official marriage certificate
  • Death certificate or divorce certificate in respect of your previous marriage(s) (if any)
  • If you are employed, please include the following:
    • Work Pass (if any)
    • Employer’s letter with the date of employment, position held, salary per month for the last 6 months with breakdown into basic, overtime and allowance per month. The letter, addressed to the Controller of Immigration, dated within 1 month from the date of submission
    • Payslips for the last 6 months
    • IRAS consent form to give consent for ICA to obtain and verify financial information provided in respect of this application with the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore directly
    • (For self-employed) Valid Business Registration Certificate with names of partners shown


The document required from the sponsor who is a Singapore citizen / Permanent Resident are as follows:

  • Identity card/ 11B
  • Singapore Citizenship Certificate (if any)
  • Birth Certificate. This must be signed and sealed by the authorities. Unnamed Birth Certificate must have supporting documentary evidence
  • Deed Poll or change of name certificate (if applicable).
  • Highest educational qualification certificates (including all tertiary qualifications)
  • Employer’s letter with the date of employment, position held, salary per month for the last 6 months with breakdown into basic, overtime and allowance per month. The letter, addressed to the Controller of Immigration, has to be dated within 1 month from the date of submission
  • Payslips for the last 6 months
  • IRAS/CPF consent form to give consent for ICA to obtain and verify financial information provided in respect of this application with the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore and CPF Board directly
  • Valid Business Registration Certificate with names of partners mentioned and/or valid vocational license (For self-employed)
  • Occupational license pertaining to your employment (e.g. Stall license, business license, property agent license). (For self-employed)
  • Birth Certificates and Citizenship Certificates of sponsor’s siblings (if any); B11. Identity cards and travel documents of sponsor’s siblings (if any); and B12. Highest educational certificates (including all tertiary qualifications) of sponsor and siblings.
  • Birth Certificates and Citizenship Certificates of sponsor’s siblings (if any)
  • Identity cards and travel documents of sponsor’s siblings (if any)
  • Highest educational certificates (including all tertiary qualifications) of sponsor and siblings.


Note: A letter from a competent authority (eg, Village Headman, Chairman of Communes, Tahsildar, Panchayat, etc in the case of applicants from China and India) certifying the relationship between applicant and sponsor may be accepted as an alternative. The letter should also mention the names of applicant’s spouse and children

EligibilityEdit

The aged parents of a Singapore Citizen/ Permanent Resident are eligible to apply.

FeesEdit

  • The fee is S$100 which is non-refundable for each application.


After approval, you will have to pay the following fees for each applicant:

  • S$100 for Entry Permit (for PR applications submitted before 18 December 2017)
  • S$20 for Entry Permit (for PR applications submitted from 18 December 2017 onwards)
  • S$50 for a 5-year Re-Entry Permit
  • S$50 for Identity Card
  • S$30 per Entry Visa (foreigners requiring a visa).


(The above fees can be paid via NETS or CashCard)
