Sikkim - Online Apply for Tax Deduction Certificate for Deductor

Step 2 : To apply for Tax Deduction Certificate online, the applicants have to visit the government website using the following link : Apply Online
Step 3 : Choose the option for “Deductor” which is pointed out through “GREEN” arrow in the image below. Then, type the “User Id”, “Password” and “TAN for Deductor” (Tax Deduction and Collection Account Number). Then, click on the “Login” button which is highlighted in “RED” in the image below if already a user.

Step 4 : Otherwise click on the “Register as New User” hyperlink which is highlighted in “RED” in the image below.

Step 5 : Select type of user as “Deductor” button which highlighted in “GREEN” and click on “Proceed” button which is highlighted in “RED” in the image below.

Step 6 : In this page, type the “TAN of Deductor” and “Verification Code” (captcha). Then, click on the “Proceed” button which is highlighted in “YELLOW” in the image below.

Step 7 : Fill all the required details such as Challan Identification Number (CIN) details, PAN details, etc under “Step2”. Then, click on the “Proceed” button.
Step 8 : Next, fill the organisation details and communication details under “Step 3” and click on the “Proceed” button.
Step 9 : Under “Step4”, type “User Id”, “Password” and “Confirm new password”.
Step 10 : Next, click on “Create account” button.
Step 11 : After clicking the “Create account” button, the details entered will be displayed, check it and click on “Confirm” button.
Step 12 : Activation code 1 will be sent through email and Activation code 2 will be sent through SMS.
Step 13 : Open email and click on the activation code link. Type the “User Id”, “Code sent through email” and “Code sent through SMS”. Click on “Submit” button, then the account will get activated.
Step 14 : Now, login using the credentials into the account.
Step 15 : Click on “Downloads” button. Click on “Form 16” or “Form 16A”.
Step 16 : There are two methods to fill this part. In one method, fill in the details under “Search PAN”, click the “Add” button. Next, click on “Go” button to proceed to the next part.
Step 17 : In the other method, fill in the details under “Bulk PAN Download” and click the “Go” button to proceed.
Step 18 : The details to be printed on the form will be displayed. Check and click on “Submit” button.
Step 19 : In the next page, fill in the required details such as Challan Identification Number (CIN) details, PAN details, etc and click on “Proceed” button.
Step 20 : The request number will be displayed which must be noted down.
Step 21 : Click on “Downloads” button and choose the option “Requested downloads”.
Step 22 : Choose the option “Request number” and fill in the request number which appeared in the step 17 and click on “Go” button.
Step 23 : If the form is available after processing, it can be downloaded by clicking on the “HTTP download” button.
Step 24 : Next, the TRACES utility can be downloaded to get the TDS certificate in required format. Click the button “Click here” to download the utility. Type the verification code (captcha) and click on “Submit” button.
Step 25 : Download the required PDF converter from the portal and install it.
Step 26 : Open the PDF converter. Then, choose the file which has the TDS certificate. Type the password and other details. Click on the “Proceed” button. Finally, the TDS certificate in PDF format is ready.
