Apply Online:

  1. To Exchange your Paper Driver License to Photocard Driver License, the applicant has to make the application online via the following link

  7. After successful payment the applicant can download the receipt as a proof of payment.
  8. DVLA will send the applicant a confirmation email once he/she has applied.
  9. All applications are processed within a reasonable time, having regard to the particular circumstances of each application, including the completeness of information and documents submitted to the authority by the applicant.
  10. Once everything is accepted DVLA will send the license through post.
  11. The entire process can be completed within 7 days or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.


Apply In-Person:

  1. To Exchange your Paper Driver License to Photocard Driver License, the applicant has to approach the nearby Post Office that deals with DVLA photocard renewal or vehicle tax link
