- To Apply for ILF (Independent Living Fund) Scotland Transition Fund, the applicant has to mail the application to Independent Living Fund Scotland link
- The applicant can download the application form from the following link
- The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
- Make sure that the applicant has attached all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
- The applicant has to attach the photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting.
- Submit all the documents with the completed form to the Independent Living Fund office.
- The mailing address is given in the “Office Locations and Contacts” section of this page.
- The fee for this procedure is free of cost.
- After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
- All applications are processed within a reasonable time, having regard to the particular circumstances of each application, including the completeness of information and documents submitted to the authority by the applicant.
- The authority may seek additional information from an applicant if this is necessary to assess the application. The authority does not need to deal further with an application until the applicant has provided this additional information.
- The entire process can be completed within 7 – 10 or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.

EligibilityEdit
The applicant can apply for the ILF Transition Fund if they are:
- Are between the age of 15 and 25 years old (if you apply at 15 you won’t receive the money until you turn 16 and if you are 25 applications must be made before your 26th birthday).
- Will be resident in Scotland for the duration of the Transition Fund grant period
- Have an impairment or disability (as defined in the Equality Act 2010).
- Have less than £29,750 of personal savings.
- Note: People who have little or no formal support from Social Work Services or through Self Directed Support (SDS) will be prioritised

Need for the DocumentEdit
The purpose of the ILF Scotland Transition Fund is to help young disabled people, between the ages of 16 and 25, with the transition after leaving school or children’s services to be:
- More independent,
- More active and engaged in their community,
- And to build and maintain relationships with other people.

The Transition Fund provides money – for up to one year – to support young people with a disability or impairment as defined by the Equality Act 2010.
Disabilities can include:
- Autism
- Learning difficulties
- Intellectual disabilities
- Physical disabilities
- Mental health (e.g. Anxiety or depression)
- Hearing or visual impairments.
