- To Apply for Disability Living Allowance (DLA) for Adults, the applicant has to approach Social Security Scotland link
- An application form can be downloaded from the following link
- The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
- Make sure that the applicant has attached all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
- The applicant has to attach the photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting.
- Submit all the documents with the completed form to the concerned office's postal address.
- The postal address is mentioned in the “Office Locations & Contacts” section of this page.
- There is no fee for Disability Living Allowance (DLA) for Adults.
- After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
- Then the application will be processed further.
- Once the process gets completed, the applicant gets a call from the office regarding the application.
- The applicant was invited to attend a face-to-face assessment. This will help the assessors determine your child's eligibility and the level of support they require.
- Social Security will send the decision by notice of determination letter to the applicant.
- If the application is successful, the applicant will receive regular payments to help with the costs of caring for the child.
- This entire process can be completed within 10 weeks or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.
