Procedure

• To attract more tourists to visit the country, the Qatari government has made tourist visa extension easier.
• Tourists may submit a request online to extend their exempted visa on the Ministry of Interior website.

Apply Online

1. Tourists may submit a request online to extend their tourist visa online by visiting the Ministry of Interior’s (MOI) website through the following link.
2. Once you have opened the website’s page click on the MOI Services tab on the dashboard and navigate to the Inquires section then click on it.
3. This will lead you to the next page displaying MOI Services, where you have to click on the “Visa Services” Tab to go the next page.
4. Here click on the Visa Visit Extension icon to access the online application form.
5. Fill in the required information to make the request. These include:-

   • The Visa number
   • Passport number
   • Select your nationality
   • Enter the verification code from the picture or audio

6. Confirm that the information you have provided is correct, then click on the “Extend” button to submit your application.
7. This will cause your application to be submitted for approval by the Ministry of Interior.
8. Once extension approval is granted, you will be notified via SMS. The extended visa will be available for printing on the MOI website.

Apply In-Person

1. A tourist can apply for a visa extension in-person by visiting the Ministry of Immigration or any Ministry of Interior Service centres to make the application.
2. Here will be issued with an application for tourist visa extension form to fill and submit. Contact information of the Ministry of Interior Service can be found from the following link
3. Fill in the required information and attach the required documents for submission. These include.

   • Valid Passport
   • Tourist visa
   • Return ticket.

4. Present the documents at the counter and if required pay any applicable fees (as per the advice of the officials)
5. Department’s officials will go through your application and if everything is in order they will begin processing the Tourist Visa extension

   • All the required condition should be met before submitting the application form.
   • The department will not be responsible for any delay resulting from failure to meet these conditions.

6. The application process may take a period of one to two days to complete.
7. Once ready the applicant will be notified to visit the Ministry of Immigration offices or any Ministry of Interior Service centres offices to collect the extended tourist visa.
