ProcedureEdit

  • Diplomatic missions accredited to the country and their members may submit a notification to the Protocol Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) of a ceremony or official event.
  • The note must be sent by the mission to the Protocol Department at least two weeks prior to complete the necessary procedures.

Apply In-Person

  1. Diplomatic missions accredited to the country and their members may submit a notification to the Protocol Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) of a ceremony or official event. This is done by writing an official letter requesting notifying the ceremony or event and submitting the letter to the Protocol Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
    • The note must be sent by the mission to the Protocol Department at least two weeks prior to complete the necessary procedures.
  2. The next step is visiting the Protocol Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in person to make the application. Here will be issued with a “Notification of a Ceremony or an Official Event” form to fill and submit. This form can also be downloaded from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs MOFA Website or it can be downloaded from the following link : Notification of a Ceremony or an Official Event
  3. Fill in the form electronically and print the filled-in application form.
  4. Attach the required documents to the application form and submit them to the Protocol Department Offices of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. These documents include:
    • Copy of establishment registration card of the diplomatic mission
    • Copy of international organizations and offices card
    • A letter stating the venue and time of the reception ceremony.
  5. The Protocols Department’s officials will go through the application and if everything is in the order they will begin processing the ceremony/event permit.
    • All the required condition should be met before submitting the application form.
  6. The application process may take a period of two to three days to complete.
  7. Once ready the applicant will be notified to visit the Protocol Department Offices to be issued with a permit for the celebration /or event.
  8. The permit is issued free of charge.
