ProcedureEdit

  • Companies wishing to be set up business in Qatar Financial Centre (QFC) may submit a request to receive the necessary approvals.
  • QFC Law No.7 of 2005 as amended (Schedule 3) details the kinds of business activities that can be conducted in or from QFC. These are divided into Regulated Activities and Non-Regulated Activities.


Apply In-Person
Regulated Activities

  1. To apply for setting up the business in Qatar Financial Centre (QFC), applicant has to visit the Qatar Financial Centre (QFC) office.

  3. Applicant has to visit the Qatar Financial Centre (QFC) and obtain the application form from the respective officer.
  4. Now complete the form with necessary information and make sure you have all the documents in hand that are listed under the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  5. After filling the form, attach the documents mentioned in the required documents section below with the completed application form.
  6. Applicant has to contact us at the authorisation department to make an appointment for a pre-application meeting as the first step.

  8. You will receive an SMS or Email with the time of appointment to your mobile number or Email ID.
  9. On the date of appointment, please visit the office as mentioned in the appointment.
  10. Now submit the completed application form along with the documents required to the QFC authority team members.
  11. A meeting will be arranged by the team members, Now the applicant has to attend the meeting and explain them about the aim, application scope, requirements etc.,
  12. Make sure you explain all the details asked by the team members to process your request.
  13. Once the meeting gets over, the team head will submit the form, documents and their feedback to the authority.
  14. Now the authorities will verify your application and validate the submitted documents.
  15. The applicant will be later requested to collect the approval to Set up Business in Qatar Financial Centre (QFC) on a specified date.



Non-Regulated Activities

  1. To apply for setting up business in Qatar Financial Centre (QFC), applicant has to visit the Qatar Financial Centre (QFC) office.

  3. Applicant has to visit the Qatar Financial Centre (QFC) and obtain the application form from the respective officer.

  6. Firstly, the firms willing to obtain a license for QFC operation to submit a business case.
  7. After the business case is approved, the applicant will be invited to proceed with licensing and registration.
  8. Applicant has to contact the licensing team to make an appointment for a pre-application meeting as the first step.

  • Applicable fees are as follows:
  1. Application Fee: US$5000
  2. Annual Non-Regulated LLC, Branch Fee: US$5000 pro-rated
  3. Annual Non-Regulated SPC, Holding Co. Fee: US$500
  4. Application and Annual Fee for LLC(G): US$500

InstructionsEdit

  • The Business Case is assessed to ensure that the proposed activities fall within the range of permitted activities in QFC, and that the firm will add strategic value to Qatar and to QFC.
  • The Strategic Fit process will take around two weeks, from when your Business Case is complete.
  • If all criteria are met, a QFC license will be issued and your company will be registered. This part of the process will take around four to six weeks.
