Procedure

• International students who do not hold a valid State of Qatar residence permit (excluding GCC citizens) are not eligible for Qatari Universities admission consideration.
• It is crucial that international student who is interested to enroll at Qatari Universities to have a valid Qatari residence permit or apply for a student visa from Qatar University.

Apply Online

• Students who have successfully received an admission letter from their respective university or college can apply for a Qatar Student Visa.
• Please note that before applying, you must go through all the admission requirements and the visa requirements the requested for.
  

1. To make an online application for a Student visa the student should make an application to the Scholarships and International Admissions Section of Qatar University (QU) online
2. This can be done by visiting the Qatar university website
3. On the dashboard click on the “Admissions” icon, navigate to the “Student Visa” link under the “international students" heading and click on it.
4. On the next page; “Student Visa Page”, Read the instructions carefully then click on the “APPLY FOR STUDENT VISA” button to go the online application page.
5. Read the applications instructions once more. And make sure you have all the required documents.

   • Download the required documents which need filling and fill them up. These include:

   (i) Affidavit of Financial Sponsor

   (ii) Health Evaluation Form

   (iii) Student declaration form

6. Fill in the required information in the online application form and upload the required documents. The required documents are mentioned in the documents section of this page.
7. Once done click on “Submit” button to submit your application.
8. The visa application will be processed and will be ready in a months’ time.
9. Successful applicants will be notified by the University. The application is free of charge.

Note:

• Considering for student visa is extremely competitive and applicants are strongly encouraged to submit the application and all required documentation according to the scheduled timeline. Qatar University will not accept applications after the published application deadline.
• The original "Bank Guarantee” should be submitted to the Scholarships and International Admissions Section in person.
• Undergraduate applicants and Arabic Program for Non-Native speaker’s applicants, who are applying for a scholarship and planning to study in the university ONLY when having the scholarship, are not required to apply for the student visa.
• The University has the right to ask for extra documents to support your visa application.

Apply In-Person
Application through Qatar Embassy, Consulate or Diplomatic mission abroad.

1. After getting the clearance from the university where the applicant has applied for further studies, the student can apply for a Student Visa In-person by visiting the to the Qatar Embassy, Consulate or Diplomatic mission in their home country.
2. Here the student applicant will be issued with a Student visa application form to fill and submit.
3. You should also attach the required documents to the application form. These documents include the following.

   (i)Passport of student

   • Original and a minimum of two Copies.
   • The Passport must be validated for 6 months after your education period has ended. (i.e. if you will be studying in Qatar for a year, then your passport must be validated for a period of one year and 6 months.)
   • Make sure you have enough blank pages for visa stamps as well.

   (ii)Photographs

   • Minimum of two passport-sized photographs is required.
   • Must be taken in a professional studio, preferable on a white background.
   • These photos must be not more than 6 months old. A recent passport picture is preferable.

   (iii)Qatar University’s Admission Letter

   • An Admission Letter clarifies your purpose of stay and is also proof of our educational qualifications.
   • You must have the original and a copy of your admission letter.
   • This is given to you by the college you will be studying in

   (iv)Medical Health Report

   • A Medical Health Report is necessary to state that you will be in good health throughout your stay in Qatar. It must include:
   • A blood test report mentioning your blood group
   • A chest X-Ray report
   • HIV/AIDS report

   (v)Financial Capability Document:

   • This document will state that you are capable of submitting your college fees and would be able to stay in Qatar without any financial concerns.

4. Present the documents at the counter and if required pay any applicable fees (This application is, however, free of charge in most consulates.)
5. The consulates officials will go through your application and if everything is in order they will begin processing the Student Visa extension

   • All the required condition should be met before submitting the application form.

   • The department will not be responsible for any delay resulting from failure to meet these conditions.

6. The application process may take a period of one to two days to complete.
7. Once ready the applicant will be notified to visit the Qatar Embassy, Consulate or Diplomatic mission to collect the Student visa.

• Make sure you print a copy of the approved visa and carry it with you when you travel within Qatar.

Required Documents

1. Online Application Confirmation Page (which should be printed on a paper at the end of applying online, if you couldn't print it out please print a web application summary and use it instead)
2. Student's passport copy, valid minimum for one year; need the page/s that have students name, Date of Birth, and Passport expiry date.
3. Affidavit of Financial Sponsor to bear the costs of study at the university.
4. Copy of passport / Qatar ID card of the financial sponsor
5. Financial documents that reflect the financial capacity of the sponsor to bear the financial expenses (study, living, etc.) of the student during his study at the university:

   • If financial sponsor lives in Qatar, the student should submit a "Bank Guarantee" issued by a Qatar local bank in favour of Qatar University with the amount of 20,000 QR = $ 5470, valid for Five years for (Undergraduate & PhD Applicants), Three years for (Masters Applicants) and One year for (ANNS Applicants).
   • If Financial sponsor is from outside Qatar, the student should submit the bank account statement of the financial sponsor for six months prior to the submission of the visa request. This document should reflect the financial capacity of the sponsor to bear the financial expenses (study, living, etc.) of the student during his study at the university:

6. Health Evaluation : This form should be signed by a Medical Clinic/Hospital in the applicant's country. This Health Evaluation form is acceptable ONLY from applicants from outside Qatar who are not having a Qatar residence permit and applying to QU visa application.
7. Certificate of "Good Conduct" or "Criminal Clearance" issued by the authority in charge of the student's residence country.
8. Approval letter from student's parent or guardian to enroll the university to study and obtain a residence permit under QU residence sponsorship. (For Bachelor Degree students ONLY).
9. Complete the Student Declaration Form

• It is crucial that international student who is interested to enroll at QU should have a valid Qatari student visa to be able to gain entry in Qatar to study at Qatar University.

• The QU Scholarships and International Admissions Section provide assistance to eligible international students who are seeking Student visa from QU in order to enroll in an academic program at Qatar University such as (undergraduate, graduate and Arabic program for Non-native Speakers).
