Qatar - Apply for Social Security Pension for an Abandoned Wife

Procedure

This service allows any woman who is proven by a court ruling that her husband abandoned her, who doesn’t have a capable breadwinner or a source of income sufficient enough to live, and who doesn’t have an income from her abandoning husband from that she could use for her expenses, to apply for a social security pension at the Ministry of Administrative Development, Labor and Social Affairs (MADLSA).

Apply In-Person

1. The applicant for the Social Security Pension for an Abandoned woman has to make an application in person to the Ministry of Administrative Development, Labor and Social Affairs (MADLSA). This can be done by visiting the MADLSA (offices) to complete the Application for Social Security Pension Abandoned Woman form.
2. The form can be obtained from the MADLSA Qatar offices or downloaded from the MADLSA Website, through the following link: link
3. Fill in the required information correctly .
4. The completed form is to be submitted to the licensing authorities along with the required documents. A list of the required documents is mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
5. Now the authorities will verify your application and validate the submitted documents.
6. After verification process, the applicant will be later requested to collect a new Social Security pensioner’s card on a specified date.

Note:

• The woman should be residing permanently in the country in the time of application to qualify for the pension.

• Law No. (38) of 1995 on Social Security amended by Decree-Law No. (23) of 2007 is defined in text of Article (2):- Abandoned Wife: Any woman who is proven by a court that her husband abandoned her, and she does not have a breadwinner or a sufficient source of income, without her having her abandoning husband’s income that she could benefit from. The Cabinet Decision No. (46) of 2014 regarding determining the value of the pension due to the categories stipulated in Law No. (38) of 1995 concerning Social Security and its regulated rules
