Apply Online:

  1. To apply for a Mortgage Broker License, the applicant can approach the Nova Scotia Government. Here is the contact Link
  2. The applicant will need to fill out an application form. Click on the following link to the online form Link
    • On the login page, click on the “Register as a new user” option.
    • Enter email address and password and other information when prompted.
    • Enter other information when prompted.
    • The applicant will receive a pop-up confirmation that their account has been created. the applicant will also receive an email confirmation.
    • The applicant can now log in to their account.
  3. Fill out the application form with all the relevant details.
  4. Attach documents as mentioned under the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  5. The applicant will need to send in information proving that they have completed an approved course.
  6. The applicant will have to make a fee payment. Find further information under the “Fees” section of this page.
  7. The applicant will need to undergo a criminal record check.
  8. Submit the application form to the registrar’s office.
  9. The application will be processed within a few weeks from the submission of the application.

EligibilityEdit

  • The company must be registered with the Registry of Joint Stock Companies.
  • The applicant needs to apply for a Mortgage Broker Licence for the principal broker at the same time that they apply for a Mortgage Brokerage Licence.

ValidityEdit

  • The license needs to be renewed on the 1st of November every year.
