Apply In-Person:
- To apply for resolving errors in West African Examinations Council Certificate in person, a written application should be made to the Council.
- The address and contact details of the West African Examinations Council can be found in the following link: Link
- In case of a school candidate, the certificate to be resolved should be submitted to the school’s principal along with the application.
- In case of a private candidate, the application is to be made to the council directly.
- The candidate should visit any zonal office of the Council with the certificate to be resolved and an application.
- Make sure that you have all the documents listed in the “Required documents” section of this page.
- Attach the required documents with the application and submit it to the relevant authority.
- Pay the fees amount (if any) required for making the amendment/correction as directed.
- After successful payment, your application will be processed and the certificate will be forwarded for making corrections.
- Once all the required corrections are made and the certificate is ready for collection, the applicant will be informed.
- Private candidates can visit the zonal office and collect the corrected certificate whereas the school candidate can go to his/her school to collect the corrected certificate.

EligibilityEdit
- When the Certificate issued by WAEC contained errors in any aspect, the holder should apply for resolving those errors.
- A private candidate can apply at the zonal office of WAEC and a school candidate can apply at his/her school.

- It is important that the completed application must contain all the information required properly and the letter must be completed legibly, in order to get accepted by the authorities.
- Make sure that you attach all the required documents as specified by the authority to avoid rejections.
- Note that, corrections of errors made by the council will not be charged and those made by the applicant will be charged a considerable amount of fees.
