Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To apply for renewal of an Air Travel Organiser Licence (ATOL) in person, the applicant has to visit the Director General’s office of Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA).

3. Visit the NCAA office with an application letter made in writing and duly signed by a person authorised by the applicant to request for renewal of an Air Travel Organiser Licence (ATOL) from the relevant department.
4. Make sure that you have all the documents listed in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
5. Attach the required documents with the application letter.
6. Then, proceed to submit the package to the Director General at the office in person for further processes.
7. The Authority shall charge a fees as it may determine for processing the renewal of an ATOL.
8. After submission, the completed form and corresponding documents will be put into further verification and validation processes.
9. If the authority is satisfied that the applicant has complied with the requirements for the renewal of the ATOL, shall renew the ATOL.
10. Once all the processes get completed, the applicant will be asked to collect the renewed license document by any applicable means.
    

REVOCATION:

1. If the Authority decides to suspend or revoke any ATOL, the Nigerian Civil Aviations Authority will give a written notice to the holder of the ATOL specifying the violation(s).
2. The right of the holder of the ATOL is to make representations in writing regarding the alleged violation(s) within thirty (30) days of the receipt of the written notice from the Authority.
3. Upon receipt of the representations from the holder of the ATOL, the Authority shall make an evaluation and inform the holder of the ATOL of its decision
4. In spite of the above, the Authority may also convey its decision to suspend the ATOL to the holder of the ATOL by written notice (if it is in the interest of safety).
5. The Authority will then publish, its decision regarding an application for suspension or revocation of an ATOL for the information of the general public.

Instructions

• Terms and conditions on the utilization of the Air Travel Organisers’ License may be specified by the authority from time to time.
• An ATOL not utilized at the expiration of its validity period shall not be renewed by the Authority, but the holder of the ATOL may apply for a fresh issuance.
• The holder of an ATOL shall continue to demonstrate to the Authority its ability to meet the conditions set forth in the ATOL.

Need for the Document

• An Air Travel Organiser License is valid for a period of 2 years and subject to renewal every two years before the expiration of its validity period.
• The Authority may suspend or revoke an ATOL if the holder of the ATOL contravenes any of the provisions of the Civil Aviation Act, regulations, rules and order or any such condition subject to which the ATOL was granted.
