Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To apply for renewal of Community Based Organisation Registration in person, the applicant has to visit the Non-Governmental Organizations (CBOs) Branch in the Federal Ministry of Education.

3. Visit the office with a formal application letter for renewal of Community Based Organisation Registration.
4. Make sure that you have all the documents listed in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
5. Complete the application form with required details and information in respective fields and sections.
6. Attest it with your signature and attach the required documents with the completed application form.
7. Submit it to the relevant authority at the office and pay the Application and Processing fee as directed by the officials.
8. After submission, the application and other documents will be forwarded for examination and verification processes.
9. Once the verification and validation processes are over, the application will be approved and the officials will proceed to take required steps to issue the renewed Registration Certificate.
10. When the license is ready to be collected, the applicant will be notified by the office and the applicant can collect it by any applicable means.

Eligibility

Any registered Community Based Organization in Nigeria, can apply for a renewal if its validity period is about to expire and he/she intends to extend the registration period.

Fees

Non-refundable fee: N10000.00

Validity

The registration is valid for a period of two years.

Instructions

• The application process will be more efficient if the applicant seeks help from an accredited solicitor by the Corporate Affairs Commission in completing the pre and post incorporation matters.

• The registrants are expected to submit report of the organisational activities bi-annually and annual plan for the year in the beginning month of that year.
