Apply In-Person:
- To apply for Renewal of Permit to Import Restricted Chemical online, the applicant must contact/visit the Federal Inland Revenue Services office where he/she obtained the TIN and first obtain registration for the Nigeria Single Window Trade Portal.

- The applicant has to provide one valid email and mobile number, together with other company's identification details as per FIRS requirement.
- If you have completed the above step, you can visit the following link and make your registration: online registration link.
- You will have to just enter TIN number, Email ID, text image in the respective fields and click “Validate” button.
- Follow the onscreen instructions and complete the registration by clicking the applicable buttons.
- After getting registered with the Trade Portal, the applicant can proceed to apply for renewal of permit to import restricted chemical in the Nigeria Single Window Trade Portal.
- Click the following link: apply online and enter your login details in the relevant fields in the page that opens.
- Enter username and password, then click “Login” button and proceed to locate the option for the relevant application form i.e., for Permit to Import / Clear Restricted Chemicals / Agrochemicals (3A.8) after logging in.
- Make a click on the appropriate link/option and complete the online application form as required with the details asked.
- Scan all the documents listed in the “required documents” section of this page and upload them on the portal by clicking the applicable options.
- Upon submission of application on the portal, a confirmation email will be sent to the applicant’s registered email address.
- Then, the internal processes of verification and validation of the application and the uploaded documents will take place.
- Once all the processes got over, if everything is found sufficient, a Pay Advice through the registered email is sent. The applicant then should pay the amount of fees by any applicable means.
- And he/she must visit the office of NAFDAC and present the print-out of the pay advice, bank teller and Remita invoice for further processing.

- Once the application form is approved and the renewed Permit is ready, the applicant is notified via email. The applicant may log-on to the Single Trade Window Portal to download and print the Permit.

- Utilization records of previously imported consignments of restricted chemicals
- Applicable Evidence of sales (invoice, receipts or delivery notes/ waybills)
- Field Trial report from Federal Ministry of Agriculture
- Technical officer’s passport size photograph (for new technical officers)
- Appointment and acceptance letters of the technical officer (including all credentials)
- Proof of relevant field experience
- Valid Listing Certificate as a Chemical Marketer
- Pro forma Invoice from manufacturer/Supplier
- Local Purchase Order (LPO) from intending end user(s)
- Permit from Federal Ministry of Solid Minerals (Ammonium Nitrate importers)

- Any organisation that holds a permit for importing restricted chemical can apply to get its license renewed.
- The applicant must have proper utilization records, Applicable Evidence of sales and Field Trial report obtained from the Federal Ministry of Agriculture.

- A processing period (Timeline) of fifteen (15) work days should be allowed from the time of submission of a complete application.

- The application letter should include names of the chemicals, the quantities required and uses for which the chemicals are intended.
- Applying companies can also view the progress of their application on the support information tab on the trade portal.
- Note that the timeline for processing is suspended when there is a compliance directive and resumes when applicant complies and communicate compliance to the Agency.
- The permit granted is an authorization for the applicant to import and should therefore be obtained before order is placed or shipped.

Need for the DocumentEdit
- Every permit to Import Restricted Chemical obtained from the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control needs renewal once its validity date has been arrived.
Information which might helpEdit
- The company representative responsible for interfacing with the Agency should be a technical officer with scientific background (minimum of Ordinary National Diploma; OND or its equivalent is required).
- The technical officer will be responsible for explaining and discussing the exact chemical nature and use of the items for which application is submitted. He is also responsible for the handling and storage of the chemicals.
- In order to obtain a Chemical Import Permit, applicants are required to have a storage facility duly approved by the Agency.
- All restricted and Agro chemicals require Permit to clear for every shipment.
