Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To apply for Radioactive Material Or Radiation Devices Possess Or Use License in person, the applicant has to visit the office of Nigerian Nuclear Regulatory Authority (NNRA).

3. Visit the office and get an application form for a Radioactive Material or Radiation Devices Possess or Use License as applicable to your requirement, from the respective department. Or click here to download: application form
4. Make sure that you have all the documents listed in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
5. Now, complete the application form with appropriate information under relevant sections, with respect to the type of license you need. Attest it with your signature once completed.
6. Once completed filling the application form, submit it in person to the relevant authority at the office.
7. Pay the necessary application fees and licensing fees for obtaining a Radioactive Material or Radiation Devices Possess or Use License.
8. After submission, the application and other documents will be forwarded for assessment by relevant authorities.
9. An inspection will be conducted by the technical officers of the Regulatory, at the premises in which the radiation process will be exhibited.
10. Once the review of the Inspection Report is over, if the applicationisapproved, the officials will proceed to take required steps to issue the license.
11. When the document is ready to be collected, the applicant will receive a formal notification from the office and the applicant can collect it by any applicable means.

• The facility can be a medical, research, consumer product or a scanning facility.
• The facility should be in compliance with all the requirements stipulated by the Nigerian Nuclear Regulatory Authority.
