Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To apply for a Media House Registration in person, the applicant has to first make a request to the Director General of the National Broadcasting Commission.
2. The office addresses of Directorates can be found in the following link: address
3. Visit the office and lodge the request to the Director General for approval to purchase an application form.
4. When the request is approved, the applicant will be instructed to purchase the application form with respect to the category of license.
5. The applicant has to obtain the application form from the office after paying the cost of the application and complete it with required information.
6. After completing, attach the documents listed in the “Required Documents” section of this page and submit it at the Director General’s office.
7. Then, the application would be processed and if found to be in conformity with the requirements of the NBC Act, are recommended to the President, Commander-in-Chief through the Honourable Minister of Information & Culture.
8. When the license document is ready to be collected, the applicant will be sent a notification from the office through email or phone number and the applicant can collect it by themselves or arrange a courier service for collection.
9. After the issue of license, the applicant should pay the applicable fees as directed to the relevant bank account. Find the information regarding payment in the office website or contact the office.

• Any individual or organisation, that wishes to establish a Media House in Nigeria, can apply.
• The applying entity must have obtained a registration from the Corporate Affairs Commission or possess an Incorporation Certificate.
